Patient is a 65 year old female that came in about 1 year after having a right Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) and presented with a displaced femur fracture. Patient required an Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) procedure to heal the fracture.

Due to the patient’s history of a THA, it was a possibility that the patient would also need a Revision surgery in which the previous THA prosthesis would be fixed, but fortunately the THA implant was stable and did not need a revision, so only the fracture was operated on.

In the ORIF procedure, a minimally invasive sliding plate was placed into the fracture without approaching the side of the fracture.

Upon follow-up the patient was doing well and feeling minimal pain. At subsequent visits the patient continued to improve, was weight bearing as tolerated, and has good range of motion.
